Nissan models impress Texas automotive journalists at the 26th Texas Truck Rodeo
With a name like the Texas Truck Rodeo, you might think only pickups would be invited, but that’s not exactly the case.
The Texas Truck Rodeo is put on each year by the Texas Auto Writers Association, and it’s a way for journalists to see how trucks and crossovers fare with on-road and trail performance.
The 2018 Texas Truck Rodeo marked the 26th anniversary for the event, and we’re pleased to announce that several vehicles from the Nissan lineup earned awards from top automotive journalists in Texas. The event was cold and damp, but the vehicle’s didn’t let the icky day slow them down from bringing home a few metaphorical trophies.
And the winners are…
The Nissan Murano
All Nissan vehicles are stylish, but the Murano definitely takes the cake with its futuristic looks and sleek edges. Reclaiming its previous title, the Murano once again earned the “Mid-Size SUV of Texas” title
The Nissan TITAN XD Diesel Single Cab
Commercial vehicle owners who have the TITAN XD Diesel Single Cab will be pleased to know that it was named the “Commercial Vehicle of Texas”. It’s also worth noting that this is the third-year straight that this truck has driven off with the title
The Nissan Kicks
The all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks brought two awards from the event! Texas journalists named it the “Compact CUV of Texas” and it earned a “Best Value” title.
Runner Up: The 2019 Nissan TITAN
The Nissan TITAN wasn’t able to clinch the victories, but it did earn runner-up titles in three categories, which we think is still pretty impressive.
- Runner Up for the Full-Size Pickup Truck of Texas
- Runner Up for the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas
- Runner Up for the Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas
